How long will it take to get connected?

If you’re already connected on the nbn™ network we will perform a transfer of service. This usually only takes a few hours and in most cases you will be online with us the same day. If you order a modem from us you will need to wait until it arrives before you can use your service.

If you have never been connected to the nbn™ network before its likely we will have to arrange an appointment with an nbn™ technician to attend your property or the local network distribution point and convert your service across from an older network to the nbn™ network. As well as run any cables into your property if necessary This appointment will usually occur 7-10 business days after you have placed an order for and nbn™ service with Infinity. .

What network does Infinity use?

We’ve actually invested heavily back into our own network, with a point of presence (Data Centre) in every state of Australia we’re confident your experience with Infinity will be far superior to our competition. We transmit your data from our Data Centre to the nbn™ point of interconnect via a mixture of Telstra, Vocus & Optus cables. From the nbn™ Point of Interconnect, the data is then transmitted across nbn™ cables to your home.

When will i begin being billed for my service?

Charges for your service will begin from the day your service is active with us. You will receive an email & SMS notification advising you that your service is active. Shortly after the notifications your nominated billing account will be charged for your pro rata component of your service (from the activation date until the end of that month) and your first month in advance.

Bills are generated on the 15th of each month and are due on the first day of the month thereafter.

What type of connection will i have?

There are multiple connectivity technologies that nbn™ uses to deliver the internet to your home, they include the following

  • Fibre to the Home (FTTP)
  • Fibre to the Node (FTTN)
  • Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)
  • Fibre to the Building (FTTB)
  • Fixed Wireless (FW)
  • Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)
  • Sky Muster Satellite (SAT)

The type of technology that your home or business connects via can vary. Best chat to us about this one either over the phone or via our online chat. One of our team will be able to let you know which type of connection you will have.
